MTV Networks Germany is expanding its IPTV reach with a new distribution agreement for Nickelodeon HD, Comedy Central HD, MTV and Nick Jr.

The IPTV platform already carries three channels from the broadcaster, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central and music channel Viva. Now MTV and Nick Jr have been added to the IPTV service, while the two HD channels, Nickelodeon HD and Comedy Central HD, are available via satellite on the Vodafone hybrid set-top box.

“Quality Television thrives on diversity – the channels from MTV Networks are an excellent addition for our young target group. With Nickelodeon HD and Comedy Central HD, we are at the same time expanding our wide range of HD channels,” said Dhananjay Mirchandani, head of Vodafone TV, in a statement.

Stefan Liebig, VP of content distribution and marketing, MTV Networks North, added: “We are very pleased to complement the already very extensive and diverse portfolio of Vodafone TV with two more HD channels as well as with MTV and Nick Jr. We are looking forward to further extend the cooperation with Vodafone in the course of the year.”
