The Walt Disney Company India has received permission to broadcast and downlink in India, although these new activities are not to involve any foreign direct investment.

The proposal has been cleared by the Indian Government's Foreign Investments Promotion Board (FIPB), according to

The board has also allowed direct to home (DTH) operator Dish TV to transfer shares from one company to another “to carry out the business of telecommunication equipment and provide management and marketing of ‘Agrani’ services in the area of mobile satellite communications.”
