A free taste of on demand television is being offered to du’s new and existing over the top (OTT) pay-TV subscribers in Dubai until 9 September.

Du’s ‘On Demand Club’ provides Dubai-based consumers with 2000 titles to watch when they choose, including popular films, TV series, children’s shows and music.

“We’re committed to bring nothing but the best services to our customers, and On Demand Club really opens up a whole new viewing experience to anyone with a du TV subscription,” commented Farid Faraidooni, chief commercial officer, du.

“On Demand Club offers convenience to our customers – full dynamic viewing control of a massive library of titles that will appeal to our varied spectrum of du TV viewers,” he added.

Movies include those from Hollywood, Bollywood and the Arab world, such as The Princess Bride, Toy Story, Sweet Home Alabama, Embaratoriat Meem, and 24 Saa Hob; while du’s on demand TV library includes complete series of Desperate Housewives and CSI for adults, and Pingu for kids.

After 9 September, a monthly charge of AED 30 will be applied for the on demand service.

Du, which launched its mobile offer in February 2007, and fixed lines in July 2007 across the UAE, also competes with Etisalat for triple play customers with pay TV and internet services in some free zones of Dubai.

The company is 39.5% owned by the UAE Federal Government, 19.75% by Mubadala Development Company, 19.5% by Emirates Communications & Technology Company, with public shareholders accounting for the remainder.
