The leading Czech broadcaster TV Nova has been awarded a licence for a new thematic channel by the country’s Radio and TV Council (RRTV).
Quoting RRTV president Katerina Kalistová, E15 says that the new channel will target male viewers of all ages and be allowed to broadcast via DTT and cable for 18-20 hours daily.
Although the licence has been awarded in the name of Kanal 5, there are indications this may be changed in the future.
CME-owned TV Nova already operates the thematic channels Nova Cinema and Nova Sport, along with a localised version of MTV.
