Romania’s RCS&RDS has announced that it will launch its third sports channel on Saturday, August 27.

Known as Digi Sport 3, the service will start by showing two live games from English Premier League (Aston Villa v Wolves and Liverpool v Bolton) and one from Italy’s Serie A (Cagliari v Milan).

It will also offer coverage of the World Judo Championship from Paris and live motor racing from Moto GP Indianapolis in the US.

RCS&RDS first announced plans to launch Digi Sport 3 this June.

At the same time, it rebranded its two other channels Digi Sport and Digi Sport Plus Digi Sport 1 and Digi Sport 2 respectively.

RCS&RDS operates the leading cable and DTH services in Romania and also has broadcast interests in five other CEE markets.
