Carrying on its mission to help amateur videographers achieve a professional studio quality to their work, Ustream is partnering with Telestream to update its Ustream Producer software to include more digital media tools and workflow solutions, and to add a suite just for pros.
Incorporating Telestream’s Wirecast architecture, the new solutions allow the integration of streaming music, image transitions and picture-in-picture capability with a click-and-go user interface that's perfect for those wanting to create advanced Webcast fare.
Ustream's solutions have seen 600,000 downloads since their launch in 2010. Ustream and Telestream's jointly-developed version 2.0 desktop streaming media apps include Ustream Producer, which can be used by any users for free, Ustream Producer Pro, for $199, and the new Producer Studio for professionals, which starts at $549.
Each version also includes Desktop Presenter for sharing one's desktop through a LAN, useful for enterprise use; and Skype integration for creating Web talk shows. Other features include support for the H.264 codec, a bandwidth meter to measure video quality, an audio mixer with sync delay, support for IP cameras and integrated sports scoreboards.
Ustream recently launched video streaming service on the iPad, to view live and recorded Web-based or user-generated content.
