An increase in cross-selling between Canal+ and its French multichannel bouquet CanalSat helped the pay-TV provider add 96,000 subscriptions in the first half of 2011.

Canal+ France recorded 10,869,000 subscriptions as of June 30, 2011. Its overseas interests added a further 90,000 subscribers to reach 1,633,000.

ARPU is also on the increase in mainland France, per subscriber revenue rising by €1 year-on-year to a monthly €47.3. However, churn is also rising, from 11.6% 12 months ago to the present 12.1%.

It was also revealed that the group now has 1.8 million connected TV subscribers, an increase of 31%.

First half revenues within the Canal+ Group were €2,392 million, a 2.8% increase compared to the first half of 2010. Canal+ Group’s EBITA was €495 million, a 1.9% increase compared to the first half of 2010.
