Japanese mobile operator NTT Docomo is to connect Sony’s new tablet devices to its 3G network from next month.
The Sony Tablet S (SGPT113JP/S) and Sony Tablet P (SGPT211JP/S) are both 3G and Wi-Fi-capable, and optimised for rich media entertainment. Users of both tablets can access video content through "Video Unlimited".
The tablets are embedded with DLNA, a consumer electronic networking standard that allows users to "throw" personal video and picture content to televisions or stream audio content to home audio devices via Wi-Fi.
The tablets are compatible with Docomo's mobile internet portal for smartphones, "docomo market," and support sp-mode and mopera U, Docomo’s internet service providers.
