Four more high definition (HD) channels have been added to Orbit Showtime Network’s satellite TV platform as part of an expanded autumn channel line-up for subscribers in the Middle East and North Africa.
The addition of National Geographic Channel HD, Star Movies HD, Star World HD and National Geographic Adventure HD brings OSN’s HD channel offering to 17 - the widest HD choice in the region. OSN already broadcasts Sky News HD, Discovery HD Showcase, OSN First HD, and OSN Movies HD.
“We are thrilled to launch four brand new HD channels making our HD line-up even better value with even more high quality channels,” said David Butorac, chief executive, OSN.
“The availability of high definition content is something OSN viewers have come to expect as standard and the launch of a further four channels will allow us to accommodate the quality programming our subscribers expect. In maintaining our leadership, we look forward to bringing our customers more channels with even more choice of premium content in brilliant HD later this year,” he added.
As well as strengthening its HD arsenal, OSN has added two more standard definition entertainment channels: Crime and Investigation Network and ITV Granada. While the former focuses on real life crime, the latter provides the popular UK-made soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
