German public broadcaster ZDF will show the country's first interactive news broadcast on its digital channel ZDFinfo on 7 September 2011.
Following the 19 CET edition of news programme "heute" on the main channel, the show's host Matthias Fornoff and Elmar Theveßen, head of ZDF's news department, will answer viewers' questions and respond to remarks and criticism regarding the show on ZDFinfo.
The feedback show "heute plus", which is presented by Jessica Zahedi, will also be available as a live-stream on the "heute" website at http://www.heute.de. Viewers will be able to participate via Skype and through the websites of ZDF and "heute".
The editorial team of "heute" wants to follow up the viewers' comments, ideas and criticism. The research results could be integrated into one of the next regular news broadcasts, for example in the shape of a report or explanatory piece.
