German news channel N24 wants to reach black figures one year earlier than planned.

"With a bit of luck and a strong fourth quarter we can lead the N24 group into the operative profit zone this year," managing director and shareholder Torsten Rossmann told German business newspaper "Handelsblatt" (http://www.handelsblatt.com/unterneh...e/4578600.html).

"We benefit from a stable advertising market. The large density of news events this year has also brought us record-breaking audience figures," said Rossmann.

The TV manager took over N24 together with Stefan Aust, former editor-in-chief of German news magazine "Der Spiegel", from TV group ProSiebenSat.1 in June 2010.

Competitor n-tv also recently announced that it would reach financial break-even earlier than expected (http://www.rapidtvnews.com/index.php...om-crisis.html).
