Media, IP and broadcast networks transport solutions provider Net Insight has launched a new portfolio for contribution and distribution network access.

The company is introducing a new series of what it calls high-quality, cost effective broadcast appliances, including O/E converters for video over fibre applications, wavelength/TDM multiplexers, audio embedders and optical failover switches.

At the heart of the new proposition is the Nimbra 140 series which is designed to enable cost-effective aggregation of video, audio and data services. The series is divided into two families of products. The multi-service modular system with sub racks and enclosures in different form factors, and a range of functional modules for broadcast applications, and the fibre link access system with low cost, high density optical link modules for SD/HD/3G/ASI.

Net Insight is claimed to deliver the world´s most efficient and scalable transport solution for broadcast and IP media, digital terrestrial TV (DTT), mobile TV and IPTV/CATV networks.
Furthermore, Nimbra is attributed with halving operational costs and enhancing competitiveness in delivery of existing and new media services.

Nimbra technology sees use with leading broadcasting and production companies and recently Twentyfourseven, one of Scandinavia’s biggest independent production companies, was delivering content for live events, such as sports and music performances, using a TeliaSonera fibre network in conjunction with the Nimbra Platform.
