About 47 million Latin American homes now have access to pay-TV according to LAMAC's latest report.

The consultancy says current pay-TV penetration in the region exceeds 60% in four of the seven countries studied by the IBOPE institute.

The institute also highlights that Argentina and Colombina are mature countries in this sector in terms of the percentage of homes and people with access to pay-TV services over the total of TV homes. In both markets penetration reaches 78%.

Meanwhile Peru and Chile have an approximate penetration of 60%. Mexico and Brazil lead this market in terms of size, surpassing 10 million subscribers in each of their territories. Argentina remains third on the list with 8 million subscribers.

Finally, over the last year Brazil's pay-TV market grew 31%, while Mexico's grew 15%. And nearly 100,000 new homes subscribe to pay-TV every month in all these markets. A figure to take into account...
