European DTT children’s channels’ audiences are growing fast in according to the latest Eurodata TV Worldwide’s survey.
The Kids TV Report—which analyses young viewers TV consumption and channels’ strategies in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK—.found that despite all other multimedia activities such as computer kids aged 4-14 still like television.

In Italy they spend 2 hours and 46 minutes on average daily, while TV viewing is stable in France and Spain at respectively 2 hours and 9 minutes and 2 hours and 38 minutes.

Free DTT kids channels are also quite successful in all the countries with CBBC and Cbeebies continuing gaining market shares on the 4-15 demographic.

In France, Gulli maintains leadership on the 4-14, with a 12.1 % audience share, up 0.6 % over one year. France is the only country in Europe with no dedicated public broadcaster for children’s programming.
