Airtel digital TV, the DTH service of Bharti Airtel, has signed a deal with Cookie Jar Entertainment to broadcast its library of programmes.

The first show to launch as part of the venture will be the popular children's animated series, Johnny Test.

Going forward, Airtel digital TV customers will be able to watch other Cookie Jar series including Wimzie’s House, Caillou, Adventures of Paddington, Sonic The Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros, Gerald McBoing Boing, Doodlebops, Hurray For Huckle, and Horseland.

Shashi Arora CEO-DTH, Media, Bharti Airtel, said: “We are delighted to bring in the internationally acclaimed series Johnny Test for viewers in India. Another addition to our growing portfolio of value added services, the launch is consistent with our efforts in bringing in a world class home entertainment for our customers. The series has been one of the hottest kid's TV shows on the air because of its gender-neutral appeal and following among kids. Animated films have found universal appeal and this is our way of giving our customers an opportunity to savour content that is popular worldwide.”

Toper Taylor, COO of Cookie Jar, added: “Digital delivery offers tremendous opportunities for leveraging our catalogue of nearly 6,000 half-hour episodes of television series, one of the world’s largest and most popular kid’s libraries with hit series for four generations. We are thrilled to be a part of the Airtel family."
