Net Insight, a Swedish provider of transport solutions for media, IP and broadcast networks, has been chosen by an affiliate of German public broadcaster ARD to build up a contribution network.

The broadcaster has purchased the Stockholm-based company's Nimbra platform for the exchange of video, radio and data traffic between its headquarters and more than 15 sites in Germany.

The value of the order, which was won in partnership with one of Net Insight's German resellers, exceeds SEK 20 million (€2.14 million), according to Net Insight. The network will be operational in 2012.

"This is a new customer for us and a large member of the ARD group of public broadcasters in Germany," said Fredrik Trägårdh, CEO of Net Insight. "Many of the ARD members have already deployed our Nimbra platform for contribution and distribution of TV, audio and data signals across Germany."
