Cable operators in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv have been dealt a major blow.
According to ProIT and Kommentarii, the city council has decided to charge them UAH1 (0.09), include VAT, per apartment or dwelling they provide services to.
As a result, cable operators will not only have to cut back on investment in infrastructure but also increase their charges for cable TV, internet and telephony services by 30%.
It is estimated that the new fee could raise up to UAH20 million a year
