Distribution and acquisition opportunities within the burgeoning MIPCOM region are the key aims of a joint venture between new Lionsgate and TISA (Television Internacional Sur America).
The newly formed joint venture, Lionsgate-TISA Television International, brings together the MadMen producer and its diversified independent studio assets with the Latin America distribution company launched earlier in 2011. TISA Entertainment is dedicated to the syndication of content-including mini-series, feature films, novellas, reality shows-in Spanish and Portuguese for distribution in Latin America by digital, cable and free to air television.
The result will be that Lionsagte’s library of feature films and programming will be available to all forms of TV in Latin America, including not just the aforementioned MadMen but also Weeds, Nurse Jackie, Blue Mountain State and the upcoming drama Boss.
In addition the partnership will distribute content from Lionsgate/Televisa joint venture Pantelion Films which aims to bring a slate of English and Spanish language films to Hispanic moviegoers.
In addition the partnership will also represent third parties in the region building upon TISA's existing relationship with New Films International in Latin America and Brazil, in addition to serving as a producing entity in the region.
