Sky Germany drops Music Choice
Jörn Krieger ©RapidTVNews | 04-10-2011 German pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland has removed pay-radio package Music Choice from its line-up on 1 October 2011.
Music Choice Extra, as the service was dubbed, provided 7 channels with non-stop music of different genres spanning from the 1960's, rock and country to current charts hits.
"Because of the large variety of freely available digital music channels, the consumption of Music Choice Extra has constantly dropped during the last years," Sky Germany explained in a statement. "As we have only been able to partially provide exclusive content with the service, we decided not to continue offering this service."
The Munich-based broadcaster announced to further expand and improve its offering. "Currently our focus lies on the extension of our HD line-up and the launch or expansion of innovative services such as SkyAnytime or Sky Go."
