German cablers expand HD offer
09.23 Europe/London, October 5, 2011 By Robert Briel Starting today, Wednesday October 5, Kabel Deutschland (KDG) is adding six HD channels to its line-up. Unitymedia is adding three HD channels on November 1.
Kabel Deutschland is now positioning HD as its main basic offer. The entry level digital tier is now called Kabelanschluss HD and retails for €18.90 monthly
The cabler has just added six new HD channels including four from the ProSiebenSat.1 Group. These channels, as well as other private and public channels, are part of the basic package.
New to the network are ProSieben HD, Sat.1 HD, Kabel1 HD, Sixx HD, Sport1 HD and Servus-TV HD.

Cologne based Unitymedia is adding three HD channels from the ProSiebenSat.1 Group on November 1. These channels are ProSieben HD, Sat.1 HD, Kabel1 HD. The Group’s female skewed channel Sixx HD will follow early next year.
