Zodiak Rights, the international division of Zodiak Media Group, has won the German TV award ("Deutscher Fernsehpreis") for the German version of its format "Extreme Job Swap" in the category "Best Entertainment/Documentary".
In the programme, which was produced by Constantin Entertainment for German commercial TV channel kabel eins, people doing the same job in different parts of the world trade places. "Stellungswechsel", as the local version is called, premiered on kabel eins on 2 August 2011.
The show was a strong performer for the channel, averaging 915,000 viewers across the series - including a peak of 1.17 million viewers in episode 4.
"Extreme Job Swap", for which Zodiak holds the world rights, follows a pair of workers from a developing country swap with a pair from the developed world. Their jobs may be the same, but they have to deal with everything from dramatically different technologies to fitting in with their new communities. Over the course of 10 days the four participants learn how they work in their respective trades and experience a life they knew nothing of before.
