Record viewership for mobile TV leader

Perhaps reports of the death of mobile TV have been have been greatly exaggerated: mobile TV solutions provider MobiTV has announced its best month in mobile viewing.
During September 2011, customers viewed more than 167 million minutes of mobile TV on MobiTV-powered services, with just under two-thirds (65%) of the minutes viewed attributed to live programming.

The mobile TV provider says that the spike in viewership illustrates continued consumer interest and demand for live mobile content coupled with the popularity of premium events, in particular for September 2011, college football and the NFL season. Live events have driven the largest peaks in mobile viewing over the last three years, in particular President Obama’s inauguration and the Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton.
