Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) will collaborate with Al-Hijrah television [a state-owned free-to-air television network owned and operated by Al-Hijrah Media Corporation, a government-owned company] to attract a larger audience from among the younger generation, Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said.
“We will look for the best method to cater to the younger generation and synergise our energy to get programmes, increase the variety and also extend broadcast time,” he said after visiting the Al-Hijrah television station at the Islamic Complex in Kuala Lumpur. “The government will also assist with equipment to enable comprehensive coverage,” he added. Dr Rais did not refute the possibility of a temporary staff exchange to allow for transfer of expertise between the two stations.
