With the launch of Nat Geo Wild HD on 15 October 2011, the customers of Germany's third-largest cable operator Kabel BW can now receive a total of 40 TV channels in high-definition.
The Heidelberg-based company thereby offers the largest number of HD channels on German cable.
Since January 2011, a total of 10 new HD channels have been added, both in free-TV and pay-TV, with further additions to follow in the next weeks. Video-on-demand (VOD) service Kabel BW Videothek also offers a large variety of HD content.
Kabel BW's HD line-up now comprises 6 free-to-air channels, the HD versions of the largest commercial broadacsters such as RTL, Sat.1 and ProSieben for an additional fee, its own subscription package "Mein TV HD" and the HD channels of pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland.
