Telus monitors Optik TV with Mariner

Canadian telco Telus has selected a service monitoring solution from Mariner to manage the customer experience of its IPTV service 'Optik TV'.

Telus has deployed the Mariner xVu IPTV service monitoring solution, which includes the SupportVu application to deliver real-time performance insights into both Optik TV's customer support and field repair agents.

“The Mariner xVu tools are providing our front line team members with new trouble shooting capabilities and insight into our customers’ services which is helping Telus deliver the very best client experience on Optik TV while reducing our operational support costs,” said Zainul Mawji, VP of operations strategy & execution at Telus. “The Mariner xVu tool is a key building block in our continuing journey to provide the best experience for our customers.”

Telus had reached 403,000 subscribers for its IPTV service 'Optik TV' by the end of the second quarter of this year, having added 46,000 customers in the three-month period - an increase of 59% compared to its net additions in the second quarter of 2010.
