Rebecca Hawkes ©RapidTVNews | 19-10-2011 Middle East pay-TV platform OSN has appointed Ahmad Zahidah to the newly created post of director of Digital, to help develop digital platforms ahead of the launch of the operator's catch-up TV service later this year.
Zahidah previously worked as one of the principals in MBC's digital media department, and has also held senior positions with Aramex and Batelco. At OSN he will report to Emad Morcos, vice president of strategic and business development.
"I am delighted that Ahmad has joined OSN. Ahmad's in-depth digital knowledge and significant regional experience within a broadcast environment puts him in a prime position to drive forward OSN's digital offering," said Morcos.
Speaking about the escalation of digital media delivery systems in the Arab world, David Butorac, chief executive officer, OSN said: "We don't see digital media devices as a threat; in fact we see them as the opposite. We want to aggregate the content and make it available across platforms with the OSN brand."
Butorac says OSN will have a digital media offering capable of providing catch-up TV via mobile
