TV5Monde strengthens position in US, Latin America

International French-speaking channel TV5Monde has concluded a number of distribution agreements across the American continent.
In the US, the channel is now available to 750,000 households in the Miami region subscribing to Comcast. More than half of households in the US will now get access to TV5Monde.
Going southward, TV5Monde Amérique Latine has also inked new cable and IPTV deals with in Costa Rica with operators Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad – Ice, Telecable and Cable Talamanca. In Panama, the channel is now available on CTV Telecom and in Mexico, it has joined TV Azteca’s IPTV offer Totalplay. The channel is winning 16,000 new households throughout these three countries.
Some deals have also been renewed in Latin America: with Telmex (Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Salvador); Cablevision (Mexico, Bermudes); Telehaiti; Televisora; Milicom (Costa Rica, Honduras, Salvador); Telefónica (Péru); VTR (Chili); Intercable (Venezuela); and Aster (Dominican Republic).
TV5Monde Amérique Latine is now available to 8.6 million Latin American households. Half of its schedules are aired in Spanish and Portuguese. The channel is the official broadcaster for the on-going Rugby World Cup.
