New research is predicting that the global online advertising revenues will be worth $106.22 billion in 2016, almost double the figure recorded in 2010.
According to the Online Advertising Forecast from Digital TV Research, growth will be steady over the five year period despite the ravages of recession and economic uncertainty in key marketplaces.

The US is predicted to remain the dominant territory for online advertising revenues but will see a marked decline in share of online advertising revenues from 41% in 2010 (when the US recorded revenues of $23.95 billion to 38% by 2016 ($39.98 billion).
The Asian giants will be nipping at the share of US and Europe with Japan ($8.129 billion) set to retain second place in 2016 but China hot on its heels. China’s online advertising revenues are predicted to grow from $2,600 million in 2010 to $7,689 million in 2016.
