After the delivery of a variety of DVB-GEM (MHP) applications to KBRO, Blu-ray and interactive solutions provider Alticast and iTV apps firm Icareus have extended their technology partnership to see opportunities based on HbbTV.
The two firms are to fully integrate Alticast’s interactive middleware solutions with Icareus’ iTV applications, application management and digital head-end solutions into the global interactive broadcast and operator markets such as in the case of the project for Taiwan’s leading cable MSO.
This deeper collaboration sees Alticast deploying Icareus’ iTV Games & Applications, iTV Suite Apps Management Platform as well as the Icareus Playout Head-End products and EPG Server. Icareus’ solutions will complement Alticast’s current product portfolio, thus, claim the partners, enabling a more comprehensive offering to both new and existing clients.
“The Alticast-Icareus relationship will provide a seamless content eco-system based not only on DVB-GEM but also HbbTV, other middleware, and UI/UX solutions from the Alticast product line-up. It will enable Alticast to provide an improved fully interactive environment and experience to our customers and allow them the opportunity to increase and create new revenue streams,” explained Anthony Smith-Chaigneau, managing director of Alticast EMEA.
