BayTSP buy out extends Irdeto security portfolio

Only weeks after the acquisition of BD+ technology from Rovi Corporation, Irdeto is splashing the cash on search, discovery and anti-piracy company BayTSP to bolster further its content protection proposition.
Founded in 1999, BayTSP's customers Hollywood studios, premium pay TV networks and gaming companies such as Comcast, Sony and Toshiba for whom it applies search and discovery services that identify and track unauthorised digital content, independent of language, across major Internet sites worldwide.
Such capability proved very attractive to Irdeto who will use BayTSP's intellectual property and patent licenses to complement its current portfolio and broaden its online monitoring, detection and anti-piracy capabilities. Most specifically, BayTSP's managed services technology will be folded into Irdeto's ActiveCloak for Media solution. This will enable, Irdeto to provide customers with actionable market feedback and analytics that it assured will be able to maximise content distribution and associated revenue.
