TelcoTV: Net Insight nets network expansion order for IPTV
Editor ©RapidTVNews | 26-10-2011 Broadcast, networks transport solutions provider NetInsight is celebrating added endorsement for its flagship Nimbra platform within the United States.
The company’s recently introduced Nimbra 320 and Nimbra 680have been deployed by the Wisconsin Independent Network (WIN) and Midwest Video Solutions as part of a major scaling out of IPTV services. WIN offers a fibre-based network and data centre services in the states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and beyond and will initially use Nimbra 680 switches to support its Ethernet and IPTV networks. Nimbra 320 already sees use in the delivery of media services to access locations and allows the WIN network to expand to additional sites and territories, claiming 100% QoS and lossless routing for its IPTV network distribution. Built-in multicast capabilities allow video to share the same infrastructure as other premium services.
“The initial roll-out of our network with the Nimbra platform resulted in immediate and overwhelmingly favourable results, making the decision to expand with Net Insight a simple choice,” explained Scott Hoffman CEO of Wisconsin Independent Network (WIN). ”With the expansion, we are now able to extend our territories and guarantee premium, high-quality services to our customers.” Indeed NetInsight insists that highly-disruptive percent packet loss on content delivery over WIN’s existing network infrastructure has been effectively totally removed.
