Canal+ Spain joins Jazztel for on demand TV

Canal+ Spain through its Canal+ pay-TV platform, formerly called Digital+, has joined forces with telco operator Jazztel to offer clients HDTV services on demand. The services will be commercialised through Jazztel's 'JazzBox' STB starting from 15 November and will allow Jazztel's DSL and VDSL subscribers to access a wide range of films, series and sports.
The bouquet offer more than 400 movies, series and documentaries the viewer will be given access to an online video club service through which they'll be able to rent the latest film releases.More than 100 titles out of this library will be renewed a month.
For the moment the service is in its beta phase but in order to get the service users will need a JazzBox STB which is to be distributed on a cost-free basis.
The JazzBox service will be offered through a dedicated broadband for content distribution network (CDN) which Jazztel implemented and which the company says will guarantee the best service in real time.
