Kabel Deutschland grows with triple play
Jörn Krieger ©RapidTVNews | 15-11-2011 Germany's largest cable operator Kabel Deutschland has increased its number of triple play customers and has gone into the black in the first six months of its business year 2011/12.
Turnover rose by 5.6% to €830.1 million in the six months preceding 30 September 2011. The net profit amounted to €44.9 million following a net loss of €8.6 million in the same period of the previous year.
The number of internet and telephony customers climbed by 20.4% to 1.5 million while the number of pay-TV subscribers and DVR customers grew by 24.6% to 1.4 million.
Kabel Deutschland invested a total of €178.2 million in the first half year in the upgrade of its cable network and in customer acquisition (2011: €141.6 million).
The company whose shares are in free flow at the Frankfurt stock exchange serves 8.7 million households in 13 federal states with TV, internet, telephony and mobile services.
