Akamai expands digital media ecosystem

As it aims to deploy advanced online video solutions and scale global operations in an increasingly connected world, Akamai has expanded its Net Alliance Partner Program and launched a solution programme designed to enhance video workflows.
Akamai believes that digital media companies face a host of challenges and need a comprehensive package of solutions to address the complexities they face. The NetAlliance Partner Program enables customers to choose from leaders in integrated post-production, transcoding, encoding, content management, monetisation and player development solutions.
"In today's rapidly evolving hyperconnected world, media companies must find solutions that address scale, security and storage needs across complex business requirements, all with the goal of providing a high quality experience on any device, anywhere," explained Brad Rinklin, vice president of Global Marketing and Alliances for Akamai. "Our diverse channel is designed to empower customers to deploy robust solutions and leverage the cloud without compromising security, reliability or performance."
Akamai has already established global alliances with digital media firms such as Brightcove, Internet Broadcasting, Kaltura, Kit Digital, Ooyala, and thePlatform, New members include Celtra, deltatre, and QuickPlay Media.
The new NetAlliance Solution Partner Program is designed to create a group of companies that can add value through complementary products to enhance customers' video workflows. Inaugural companies include Civolution, Digital Rapids, Elemental, Envivio, Haivision, Harmonic and Max Sound. Digital Rapids, Elemental, Envivio, Haivision, and Harmonic have integrated their solutions with the Akamai HD Network and have customers delivering content across Akamai.
