Manchester United match highlights are among the video services to be made available next month to Du customers in the UAE, thanks to a recent tie up between the English Premier League champions and the Dubai-based telecommunications operator.

At a ceremony on 17 November attended by former club captain Gary Neville, more details emerged of the deal which will see Du provide Manchester United-related video content and an exclusive SMS subscription service from December 2011.

"We are pleased to be able to bring our customers even closer to their favourite team. This is an exciting occasion for us, as this iconic partnership between du and Manchester United marks our synergistic approach to bringing those people most important to us – our customers and fans – the things that add extra value to their lives," said Farid Faraidooni, chief commercial officer, du.

Richard Arnold, commercial director, Manchester United, added: "We are proud of our partnership with du and hope to bring the Old Trafford experience to our fans in the UAE. Manchester United is fortunate enough to have fans all over the world and it is important to us that we build partnerships, like the one have with du, to enable us to become more accessible to those fans."

Fans will have access to downloadable content through Myworld, including videos of match highlights and interviews, wallpapers, and ringtones priced at AED1 per day.

An SMS alert service with news, updates, and scores will be available at AED5 per week.

The two year partnership between du and Manchester United was announced last month at Dubai's GITEX Technology Week.
