Spain’s main signal distributor, Abertis Telecom, has started tests with the DVB-T2 DTT standard.
This evolution of the DVB-T traditional standard reduces interference, simplifies mobile services and allows better management of the radioelectric spectrum. The DVB-T2 standard works for mobile and broadband networks.
The tests will last six months and are taking place in Barcelona and its surroundings. They are part of the Enabling Next Generation for Broadcast Services (ENGINES) project, developed under the umbrella of the Celtic Plus initiative.
The Celtic organization is part of the Eureka panEuropean network. Founded in 1985 to work in the development of I+D projects, the network works in cooperation with global companies and international governments.
