French pay-TV group Canal+ has seized French conseil d'Etat (State Council) to protest against the Canalsat-TPS merger withdrawal.

Signed up in 2007, this agreement was cancelled last September by French Competition Authority. Reproached for a number of failures in its contractual obligations set up to avoid any dominant position, Canal+ had been also hit with a €30 million fine.
Vivendi and Canal+ are asking such a decision be cancelled itself.
In parallel to this legal action, Vivendi and Canal+ have once more submitted their acquisition project to French Competition Authority, whose conditions are about to be discussed again.
