YouTube begins delivering Disney content
Editor ©RapidTVNews | 24-11-2011 As it ramps up its professional, and more monetisable, content portfolio, YouTube has begun a rental service for Disney movies.
As part of its expansion plans, YouTube has pledged to invest $100 million in original content, with channels rolling out over the course of the next few months.
Complementing the original content strategy will be services such as this and the leading online provider service will now offer for rent films from Disney, Disney·Pixar and DreamWorks Studios to complement the burgeoning library of full-length feature films from major Hollywood studios that already are available to rent at YouTube.com/movies.
The films available initially include, Alice in Wonderland, Winnie the Pooh, Cars, Cars 2, all of the Pirates of the Caribbean films.
YouTube has stated that it will be adding more Disney classics and new releases over the next few weeks, including YouTube Movie Extras with behind-the-scenes clips and interviews
