PureScreens launches first Museum app on LG connected TV sets
Pascale Paoli-Lebailly ©RapidTVNews | 24-11-2011 French aesthetic content producer PureScreens has partnered with LG Electronics for the worldwide launch of its Museum application on connected TV sets.
Developed by London-based agency MC-Creation, Museum will be a premium application pre-loaded in LG TV-sets in most European countries such as UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Poland. It will also be available to download for free in LG’s App Store Lounge in all other territories, including South Korea, Japan and the United States.
With over 300 artworks originating from European museums and galleries at first, the app introduces great masterpieces to HD television. Leonardo’s Mona Lisa, Renoir’s Bal du Moulin de la Galette or Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, are some of the 10,000 artworks which will be made available in the application. Each piece is supported by a 20 minute audio commentary in English or French. Users can pause the stream and view the HD picture of a masterpiece on their TV screen for up to 24 hours.
The app will offer 5 exhibitions for free. For access to all exhibitions, users can log on to PureScreens.com website and purchase credits.
PureScreens Museum channel is currently available in France on Numericable, Orange, SFR, Free and Alice, in Belgium on Numericable, in Portugal on MEO and on demand on UPC in the Netherlands.
