The new Dutch video on demand service from Pathe cinemas is set for a December launch, the company has announced. The service will initially be available on PCs and Samsung Smart TVs.
The new VOD service is called Pathe Thuis (Pathe at Home) and offers movies for rent during a 48 hour window or as download to own. Titles will be refreshed every week and become available as soon as four months after the initial theatrical release date.
Pathe indicates movies will cost €5.00 for rental and around €14.50 for download to own.
The new service will also be available on Samsung Smart TV sets and people who buy a new TV set before January 8 will receive a voucher for Pathe rentals. Samsung Smart TVs already provide access to the MovieMax premium VOD service with new movie titles.
