Naspers, which runs MultiChoice and DStv brands in South Africa and the African continent at large, found another 269,000 subscribers in the last quarter.

Much of the growth came from South Africa, where 142,000 of the 209,000 increase came for the low priced Compact bouquet.
Compact also continues to be a draw in Sub Saharan Africa. 60,000 new homes were added and Compact now accounts for 41 per cent of the 1.5 million subs in the region.
In total Naspers pay-TV operations boast 5.2 million subs total. Profits were up 8 per cent to R3, 4 billion.
Technology division Irdeto has shipped 9.3 million CA units in the year to date.
