Germany's second-largest cable operator Unitymedia has commenced offering mobile services in addition to TV, internet and telephony. The portfolio comprises three voice and data tariffs containing different flat-rates.

The mobile services, for which no cable subscription is required, are running on network capacity from Telefónica O2 Germany. Unitymedia also offers mobile reception devices on its website for sale.
The subsidiary of US media company Liberty Global announced in April 2011 to add mobile services to its line-up. After Kabel Deutschland and Kabel BW, Unitymedia is the last of Germany's three large cable operators to add mobile tariffs to its portfolio.
