As part of a plan to enable it to address burgeoning demand for video on smartphones and tablets, KT Corp, has bought local video search technology company Enswers.
The second-largest mobile operator in South Korea, KT has reportedly spent $40 million on the technology firm which was founded in early 2007 and has developed a variety of multimedia search, content monitoring and contextual video advertising products.
"KT's acquisition will help us drive continued development in the multimedia search technology sector and we will work together to introduce a new line-up of online video services and platforms," said Enswers CEO Kim Kil-Youn.
