Germany's national telco Deutsche Telekom has selected a solution provided by Israel-based semiconductor company Celeno Communications to distribute its IPTV platform Entertain wirelessly throughout the homes of its subscribers.

Telekom's Speedport W 102 Bridge, powered by Celeno's CL1820 Wi-Fi chip and OptimizAIR technology, will enable Entertain customers to access the IPTV service on multiple set-top boxes and share multi-room digital video recorder (DVR) content wirelessly.
The Speedport W 102 Bridge will provide consumers with the freedom to place their set-top-boxes and TV sets anywhere in the home and enjoy time-shifted content recorded on a master DVR from any set-top-box in their home. Subscribers using the Speedport W 102 Bridge can expand their network to up to four video adapters in their home.
"Celeno's optimised Wi-Fi technology far exceeds that of conventional Wi-Fi which is merely designed for internet surfing," said Ulrich Grote, Vice President terminal management fixed-line at Deutsche Telekom. "Celeno's solution not only allows for flawless HD video streaming, it also enables multi-room DVR with the high quality of experience our consumers demand."
The Speedport W 102 Bridge will cost €149.99 or €3.95 per month (in the first 24 months) as part of Telekom's end device service package.
