Video compression specialist Raystream will provide real-time compression of live streaming HD online video to the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) on a 60-day trial period with an opt-in program.
CBN will use the technology to extend its message into the Middle East revealed Brian Petersen, Raystream's CEO.
"We are pleased to welcome Christian Broadcasting Network as another one of Raystream's customers to trial the integration of our live streaming HD video solution with our HD video compression technology…This trial will allow CBN to use our proprietary technology to broadcast HD video into the Middle East, " the executive said.
Raystream's live streaming process enables HD video to be compressed as it is generated, prior to streaming over the Internet. Raystream's technology can be incorporated into existing HD video streaming processes, significantly reducing the bandwidth needed to stream live events.
"This trial...represents the next logical step for bringing Raystream's more efficient, less expensive delivery of live streamed HD video worldwide," said Raystream Executive Vice President of Sales and Strategic Implementation, Michael Seay. "We are very pleased that CBN has recognised the value of Raystream's HD video compression and live streaming technologies and we are excited to offer this trial to CBN to further prove our technologies."
