Nessuno mi può giudicare

Alice, 35 anni e un figlio di 9, vive, superficiale e razzista, in una grande villa a Roma nord. Alla morte improvvisa del marito, imprenditore di sanitari, viene a sapere dall’avvocato di famiglia che il consorte l’ha lasciata sul lastrico e che, se non salderà al più presto il grosso debito, perderà anche la custodia del figlio. Seguendo Aziz, il cameriere che ha insultato fino a pochi minuti prima, Alice lascia il lusso a cui è abituata per trasferirsi su una terrazza malandata del quartiere popolare del Quarticciolo. Per guadagnare tanto e in fretta, poi, ricorre al mestiere più antico del mondo, facendosi dare lezioni da una escort professionista. Il lieto fine, garantito dal regime di commedia, che fa sì che tutti vivano ricchi felici e contenti, fa anche del film un invito bello e buono a risolvere i problemi nel modo più veloce e discutibile, perché tanto è la buona fede che conta e dunque “nessuno mi può giudicare”. Ma, moralismo a parte, la pericolosità del film di Massimiliano Bruno risiede altrove, meno in vista, più in profondità.

The White Masai (Masai bianca)

While spending the last day in the city of Mombasa, she briefly meets Lemalian (Jacky Ido) a Samburu warrior who cuts a handsome figure in his traditional dress. It’s love at first sight. Setting into motion her fate, Carola cancels her return flight and sends her boyfriend home. She then sets out to find Lemalian, who has since left the city for his remote village, where the Samburus (a tribe related to the Masai) herd goats and live in mud huts. In Switzerland, Carola owned her own shop. Now she must adjust to Lemalian’s world, where the cultural differences range from sex (no kissing), to food (sugared tea, goat meat and blood) and tradition (men mustn’t eat in the company of women). Can love overcome all?
