Univision's new telenovela La Fuerza del Destino (Destiny's Strength) is scoring high ratings. Last Monday the two-hour season finale of the show had 8 million viewers, followed by a special episode of the talk show Don Francisco Presenta, which was seen by over 3.6 million viewers. These results have made Univision the leading network in all demographics, despite the language barriers.

The telenovela's average amount of viewers was 6.2 million. And, in addition to being the number one show on public TV on Monday night, La Fuerza del Destino was also the highest rated telenovela in all key demographics.
This is the 40th time that Univision is the leader in the 18-49 demographic, which translates into an 11% growth compared with the previous year. La Fuerza del Destino's grand finale made the network the leader among 18 to 34-year-olds for the 91th time, 12% more than last year.
Due to La Fuerza del Destino's results, Univision became the fourth most socially active network on 26 December, according to data from Trendrr.tv. The telenovela's final episode generated over 28 million tweets, according to Radian6.
There is no doubt the telenovela genre is performing strongly and this trend will be widely shown at the NATPE conference in January in Miami.
