Samsung plans to re-enter Japan's flat-panel TV market
Louise Duffy ©RapidTVNews | 04-01-2012 Samsung Electronics is planning to return to the Japanese TV market after a five-year absence, with its latest flat-panel TVs next year.
According to The Nikkei Business Daily, the company is currently negotiating with retailers and plans to re-enter the flat-panel TV market with its most advanced LED and premium LCD lines.
Samsung launched its TVs in Japan in 2002 but withdrew in 2007 after disappointing sales.
But with the company's Galaxy smartphones proving a worldwide hit, including in Japan, analysts say the company is poised to grab a decent share of the TV market in the country, too.
