S3 offers BBC perfect Storm for multi-device iPlayer delivery

In somewhat of a coup for the Irish company, digital TV content delivery platform provider S3 Group has had its StormTest Development Centre utilised for automated testing of connected devices at the BBC.
The corporation is to use the StormTest Development Centre in the evolution of the iPlayer, including testing for multiplatform delivery to devices that can range from connected TVs, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, tablet devices and others.

S3 Group says that its role will be to help ensure a consistent consumer experiences regardless of the content delivery platform. StormTest is designed to allow for automated testing to be carried out by probing multiple devices with different test scripts simultaneously for interactive applications, embedded firmware, and digital TV solutions.
