Freesat renews Arqiva contract with EPG deal
Editor ©RapidTVNews | 05-01-2012 Freesat, the UK’s subscription-free satellite TV service, has extended its business relationship with Arqiva for the delivery of Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) data its DTH platform.
Under the terms of the deal, the communications infrastructure and media services company will ensure that dual and redundant multiplexing, uplink and satellite capacity on the Eurobird 1 platform will provide constant availability of the essential EPG data to the 2 million plus Freesat receivers across the UK which give access to more than 150 TV, radio and interactive channels, including five free HD channels from BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and NHK, as well as BBC iPlayer and ITV Player.
